Future Biogas – Multiple Site Rollout & Refinancings
Marechale Capital first met Future Biogas back in 2009 when the management team were exploring ways of financing some of the first anaerobic digestion (AD) biogas plants in the UK. At the time, Marechale was interested in exploring issues around community energy and food sustainability with the River Cottage team, subsequently a client, as generous government tariffs had made food waste renewable energy a commercial reality.
Over the course of the last 10 years Marechale, has not only financed and sold community power company West Country Renewables but advised and financed Future Biogas’s top company with its core clients. Marechale has also assisted the company in raising over £130m to finance its 11 large scale AD biogas plants, including three sites owned by one of Marechale’s core investors.
Future Biogas is now one of the UKs leading sustainable feedstock and energy crops operator.
