Hawksmoor is now one of the best-known award-winning steak restaurants in the UK with a reputation for its top-quality beef as well as its fabulous breakfasts. In the early days of Marechale’s existence it was appointed by Hawksmoor to advise on a private equity financing round. At this stage Hawksmoor was also a very young business with only one small off-pitch site, yet it was making significant profit on a £50 spend per head basis.
Marechale advised on the company’s valuation before orchestrating and marketing a fund-raising campaign. Marechale secured a number of interested investors and helped agree terms with an offshore family office. In only three years the investment delivered a multiple of over 10 times, not including EIS relief, to its investors.
Hawksmoor is now a multi-site restaurant brand with restaurants across the UK and a location in New York. Listed in the Sunday Times Best companies for the last eight years, it’s has been shortlisted as one of the best companies to work for as well as one of the most sustainable restaurant companies in the UK. It has also raised over £1m for charitable organisations.
